Advance Student Research Experience Grants: Awards to Faculty

All Advance grants seek to support Advance Program goals. The grants support undergraduate students and those who are assisting undergraduate students as they acquire, articulate, demonstrate, and disseminate their research or projects to the UL Lafayette community and beyond.

Available Undergraduate Faculty Grants: 

Equipment Grants

QEP Budgeted: One $10,000 grant per college (including Library) per year.

Original Proposal: Funding was budgeted to provide Colleges/ Departments with specialized equipment and supplies to help implement Advance student research experiences (SREs) programing. These funds were not proposed to pay for equipment or supplies that could be funded through other resources, like STEP grants, lab fees or Educational Development grants.


Faculty Grants

QEP Budgeted: Twenty $5,000 grants per year.

Original Proposal: Funding was budgeted to provide incentives to faculty who design and implement student research experiences (SREs), inside and outside the classroom.


Course Improvement/Design Stipends

QEP Budgeted: Ten $3,000 grants per year.

Original Proposal: Funding was budgeted to stimulate and support the design and redesign of courses with embedded student research experiences (SREs) included.


Available Undergraduate Student Grants:

Student Travel Grants

Funding was budgeted for undergraduate student research activities, especially travel to present their work at conferences.

Requests for proposals will be posted to the news announcements on advance.louisiana.edu and disseminated via email throughout the academic year.
