Dupré Library Arts Fellowship

Eligibility
  • UL Lafayette junior or senior level students.
  • Major must be within the College of the Arts.
  • Submission of an application packet. (see Application criteria below)

Timeline
  • Application Orientation Session in Library August 22, 2025. Location and time TBD.
  • Application portal opens July 5th, 2025 at 12:00am.
  • Application portal closes September 5, 2025 at 11:59pm.
  • Project completion by December of the year it is awarded.

Payments
  • Two payment distributions of $500 each.
    • Upon the completion of a post application, post-award notification revised project proposal.
    • Upon the completion of the final deliverable.

Research Process
  • Throughout the fellowship, you will work closely with Peter Klubek, Head of Research and Access Services for Edith Garland Dupré Library, the ASRE Pathways team, and your faculty advisor to bring your project to completion.

Requirements
  • Engage with one or more of the collections at Dupré Library and base your creative project on this interaction.
  • Presentation of your project in the form of an exhibition, performance, or similar showcase.

Application (Apply HERE)
  • A 500-word project proposal narrative that outlines:
    • The specific collection at Dupré Library that you plan to reference.
    • How the reference material may inform the project.
    • The final deliverable. (e.g., art exhibition, dance or music performance, theater production, etc.)
  • A 500-word Artist Statement.
  • A 250-word biographical sketch.
  • A digitized (e.g., .jpeg, .mp3, or mp4) collection of 10 recent artworks, sample dance video, or music performance recording.
