The College of Engineering invites you to attend the next seminar in our Distinguished Lecture Series designed to bring about greater conversations and collaborations across the College.  Each session features a remarkable speaker presenting a compelling topic of community interest.
We hope you take advantage of this great opportunity to learn about the most recent trends in science, engineering, and technology as well as the opportunity to make new friends, grow your professional network, and take part in conversations that will define the world to come. Even though we have been separated by the renovation, I hope we are able to take advantage of this opportunity to come together as a College!
We are proud to announce that Dr. Farzad Ferdowsi will be our next honored speaker.  He teaches electrical and computer engineering and also serves as the departmental graduate coordinator. Dr. Ferdowsi is an educator and a lifelong learner, and much of what he knows he has learned alongside his students. He is currently a student himself, finishing his MBA in the College of Business next semester. Together with the PS-CARE Research Group, he explores how to make power systems more reliable and resilient, from small satellites in orbit to buck power systems and microgrids.
His talk titled "Louisiana is getting plugged in" is very timely for our region as the engineering community works together to power the manufacturers, data centers, and aerospace industries moving into our state.  See the attached flyer for the abstract.
The seminar will begin at 3:00 PM in CLR 324 on October 19th.  We ask you to RSVP at your earliest convenience using this link: Engineering Distinguished Lecture Series: Dr. Ferdowsi – Fill out form

Seats are limited, so please RSVP at your earliest convenience.
